❝I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me - like food or water.❞

The Avengers need good press: in which Xavier thinks that it’s a freaking good idea (but Logan doesn’t).

Many classic horror icons and other disturbing creatures share common characteristics. Pale skin, dark, sunken eyes, elongated faces, sharp teeth, and the like. These images inspire horror and revulsion in many, and with good reason. The characteristics shared by these faces are imprinted in the human mind.
Many things frighten humans instinctively. The fear is natural, and does not need to be reinforced in order to terrify. The fears are species-wide, stemming from dark times in the past when lightning could mean the burning of your tree home, predators could be hiding in the dark, heights could make poor footing lethal, and a spider or snake bite could mean certain death.
The question you have to ask yourself is this:
What happened, deep in the hidden eras before history began, that could effect the entire human race so evenly as to give the entire species a deep, instinctual, and lasting fear of pale beings with dark, sunken eyes, razor sharp teeth, and elongated faces?
… Just be careful out there.

Interesting thought.

notes.

Sometimes you have those days where everything crumbles around you and you spend precious minutes of your life picking up the pieces and trying to fit them back together so you can see that everything was all right and that nothing really happened; or at least you tell yourself that. Sitting in a corner of your mind while your body sits like a limp rag on the couch, you  try to fit the pieces of your fragile world back together and get frustrated because they don’t fit back together the way you want them to. Made blind by some overwhelming emotion, you ignore the facts, the reasons. Instead you substitute your own reasons and facts, your own scenarios in hopes that they are what happened in reality.

The shattered cup of your mind stays broken until you finally put all the pieces together how they should. Each shard cuts your skin, and by the time you’ve completed putting it back together, you’re covered head to toe in cuts, some of which bleed more than the others; some cuts are deeper. Waking up in the haze, realizing what you feared the most is true, your cuts continue to bleed. Over time, they heal, leaving only scars. But those scars never leave you. You can’t remember the piece that cut your skin, but you remember the whole truth and see the scars criss-crossing your body in intricate patterns.

You resort to make-up and fine clothes and big words and ambiguous statements to cover up the pain you’re truly in. Instead of the healthy alternative of speaking to someone about your pain and scars, to gain closure, you bottle it up and keep it hidden deep within your chest, hiding it from everyone, including yourself.

The time finally comes when you can’t keep it in anymore. Instead of going into a blind rampage you sit at your computer angrily typing words and sentences in the early hours of the morning. This is when your friends begin to ignore you because you refuse to tell them what’s wrong.

In hindsight, you feel stupid for letting everything shatter in the first place.
